How to Recover Deleted/Lost Xrays Cadi

Issue: Lost X-Ray Photos in Cadi

Objective: To guide users through the process of recovering lost X-Ray photos in the Cadi software.

Steps to Recover Lost X-Ray Photos

1. Access the Recycle Bin

2. Locate Deleted Files

Within the Recycle Bin, sort the files by "Time Deleted."
Compare the deletion time with the time you noticed the X-Ray images were lost at the X-Ray station.

3. Identify and Restore Files

Look for three specific file types with the same timestamp: a .mih file, a .bmp file, and a .dic file.
Select these three files, right-click on them, and choose 'Restore.'
The files will be restored to the C:\Cadi\tmp directory.

4. Reopen Cadi Software (Optional)

Sometimes, reopening Cadi after the files have been restored can lead the software to automatically recognize recovered images.
To check if this has happened, reopen Cadi and navigate to the patient's file who lost the photo. Verify if the X-Ray image has been restored to the correct folder.

If Automatic Restoration Does Not Occur

5. Manually Transfer Files to Patient Folder

Open the patient’s file in Cadi where their photos are correctly displayed.
Right-click on one of the photos in the right-side square panel at the bottom of the screen.
Select "Open in Windows Explorer." This opens the folder where the patient's X-Rays are stored.
Copy the three restored files from C:\Cadi\tmp to this patient folder.

6. Confirm Photo Restoration in Cadi

Once the files are transferred to the patient's folder, the X-Ray should now appear in the patient’s file in Cadi.
